Terms
The agreement between Lingua Desk and a school that runs on it, in plain English.
Draft. This describes how Lingua Desk is built and operated, and is awaiting legal review. It is not yet a binding agreement.
1.What we provide
Lingua Desk is software for running a language school: courses, timetable, attendance, homework, messaging, invoicing, certificates and reports. Your school gets its own address on our platform, its own branding, and its own separate data.
We set your school up with you rather than leaving you to it, and we keep the service running, backed up and patched.
2.Your account and your people
You decide who has access to your school and what they may do — owner, administrator, teacher, student, parent. You are responsible for those choices and for keeping credentials to yourself.
Tell us promptly if you think an account has been taken over, and we will help you shut it down.
3.What you pay us, and what your students pay you
There are two separate flows of money and they never mix. You pay us a monthly subscription for the platform, at the tier you have chosen. Your students pay you, into your own payment account, through the invoicing built into the product.
We do not take a cut of your teaching income, and we are not a party to your arrangement with your students.
4.Whose data it is
Your school's data is yours. You decide what is collected and why; we hold and process it on your instructions, as described in the privacy notice.
You can export it in full, in a structured format, at any time and without asking us.
5.Acceptable use
Do not use Lingua Desk to break the law, to harm anyone, or to store material you have no right to. Do not attempt to reach another school's data, or to interfere with the service for anyone else.
We may suspend a school that is doing serious harm, and will tell you why.
6.Leaving
You can stop at the end of any billing period. On the way out you get a full export of your data, and after an agreed window we delete what we are not legally required to keep.
If we ever discontinue the service, you get long notice and the same export — not a locked door.
7.Changes
We will tell schools before terms change materially, in time to decide what to do about it.
